A must go to supper club when in Rhinelander...great staff, great cocktails...fantastic fish fry with all kinds of fixin's...a crowded cozy place with great patrons...a bit of a wait on fridays...but well worth the wait...cant wait to come back

Great drinks, great soup, great salad, great homemade bread, and great steak!! How can you go wrong? I'll be back soon!

Was disappointed, fish was over cooked and dry. Potato pancakes were burnt around the edges. Over all a bad experience. The old fashions were good.

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. Was unimpressed by the food (fish). It was kinda cold and not very good. Drinks were marginal at best. My company felt kinda uncomfortable by our server who was pretty rude

Al Gen is a classic Great Northwoods Wisconsin supper club. It has been around for a long time due to it's great service and excellent food. Staff are friendly and helpful. Service is excellent and the dishes are equally good. We try to make it for either the Friday night fish fry or the Sunday broasted chicken specials. But you really can't go wrong with any of their specials including the prime rib. Owners are usually there and friendly. Overall it has an excellent atmosphere with great food.

I loved this place. True old-fashioned Wis supper club. A must stop if in the area.

Typical Wisconsin supper club. Not huge so get there early. Friendly fast service. Had the fish fry which was good. A bit on the loud side but not unbearable. Would recommend.

Perfect place for dinner and drinks. A must visit for me when I'm in the area.

Incredible food, great pricing, great specials & professional staff.

Waited a hour to be seated. Then another hour plus to get our food after ordering. Fish fry.....cold and dry chunks of fish. Nothing special.... Old Fashioned's at the bar were ok...but we seemed to be charged different prices each time. Will look elsewhere next time. Nice atmosphere at least.

This place has no respect for people with disabilities. The handicapped entrance is treacherous. I posted a photo. Not only that but the door to the kitchen is kept propped open with no screen letting in flies. This back entrance is used by the help and suppliers directly into the kitchen. After struggling to get in and passing by the sink I couldn’t help but notice there was a sign advising kitchen workers to wash their hands and underneath this sign was an empty container of hand soap. This place is yuck.

The broasted chicken was great! Wonderful meal and service.

I especially love, and 100% recommend getting their "Friday Night Fish Frys". One of the best options on the menu!!

Great Friday fish fry. A group of fun friendly people. Reasonably priced.

I have been eating Friday fish fry here for the last 5 decades. I live in Ohio... but when in the Northwoods my car always ends up at Al Gen's on a Friday nights. Brandy or Whiskey old fashions at the bar and then all you can eat fish fry with coleslaw, French fries, potato pancakes, apple sauce, bread, and macaroni salad. mm mm good.

All you can eat chicken on Sunday night and Friday night is fish all you can eat like the Thanksgiving day dinner. MN other on the menu

Great Fish fry on Fridays and Broasted chicken on Sundays. Big portions and great prices. Friendly service, clean and kitschy cool. Just a fantastic supper club that's been around forever. One of my favorite places to eat

Old Fashioned drinks are top-notch! Bartender was funny and fast, all the drinks were delicious. Tom Collins was the best ever here. Cheese curds appetizer was great, and the meal was worth the price. Prime rib was out, we got there too late, about 8:30, but the shrimp and sirloin meals tasted ✨ amazing ✨!

Al-Gen Supper Club is one of the remaining genuine supper clubs. We especially love their Sunday evening chicken dinner. The log cabin feel and the atmosphere is authentic Northwoods. A must eat location in Rhinelander!

My wife and I had dinner Saturday Night Dec 7th the Christmas decorations were amazing, even though they were hosting some large Christmas parties service was excellent. My wife stated that the scallops were some of the best she's ever eaten in my barbecued ribs are excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and an outstanding atmosphere.
